Today is my sweet Leslie’s sixth birthday. We are enjoying a visit with her Grandparents in Ohio today. We’ve already had her party, but I just wanted to mention her on her actual day.

Leslie is the quietest of my children. She is shy and has a sweet smile. She is a hard worker. She has a quick, fiery temper that we’ve had to work on training her about. Since she’s been a two year old, she’s enjoyed sorting toys by color. She loves to organize things. She likes to sweep, vacuum, fold laundry, and play with her baby brother. Here is a photo I snapped a few days ago of Leslie washing dishes, her new favorite chore. 🙂 It’s so nice that she has fun doing these jobs. She is a big help to me!

My kids’ birthdays are always bittersweet for me. I’m so happy to see how my children are growing and changing. Each child is like a butterfly slowly coming out of its chrysalis. I “ooo” and “ahh” over the gorgeous beauty, but I also mourn a bit over the realization that they are that much closer to flying away. But, that’s what they are supposed to do.
I’m so pleased with Leslie’s growth. She is tenderhearted, interested in the things of the Lord. She is learning to read and add and write. She is becoming a “little woman”. I love her so much!
Happy birthday, to the best Leslie in the world!
