Lauren and Mitchell only 2 1/2 years ago! How they’ve changed!
Some days are so busy that I think I’m going to collapse during dinner. Homeschooling two kids, having a toddler and infant to care for, i.e., read to, talk to, play with, care for, etc… can be so exhausting. I spend my days putting out fires! Sometimes I hear myself saying, “When will you guys grow up??” But then, something brings me back to reality…they ARE growing up, and way too fast! Today I was downloading some photo CDs onto my new computer (yes, the one I bought over 9 mos. ago, I told you I was busy! ha!) and I couldn’t believe how much my kids have changed in the last two years! It’s amazing. It won’t be long and my toddler, Leslie and my infant, Laci will be so different as well. Then I won’t be asking “When will you grow up?” I’ll be wishing I could slow them down!
I’m so thankful I can be a stay-at-home Mom and enjoy these fleeting days. Yes, sometimes I lose my focus, but I’m so glad that I don’t lose it for long.
I know just where you are coming from. Your post sounds like your living my life. lol
It's good to know that I am not alone when it comes to the collapsing at dinner and “When will you guys grow up?. What a wonderful post and a truthful one, what a breath of fresh air.
We don't homeschool the kids yet. But in a few years we are going to. Trey and Gracie have speaking disabilities and need more attention at this stage of schooling. Which at first I felt like I was being a bad mother for not homeschooling like everyone was wanting me too. But Trey has been through Kindergarten and has improved with Speech Therapy and continues to improve with the extra help in 1st grade. Gracie isn't in Speech Therapy yet but in a few months she will be. Just being a class full of other kids and being away from baby talking all the time has helped her a lot. Plus it helps that the school is only a few blocks from the house and it's main district is our district in WR.
Another thing is that we went on our Neighborhood Walk on a Thursday evening and Trey ran into Aubrey one of his fellow K. students at school and it was neat for Trey to be able to make a connecting to this little girl through school. We are continuing to work on her and her family to come to church and in time I believe they will.
Wow! This was only going to be a short comment. Moving on here!
