As a stay at home mom, I am never off duty. Right now, as I sit a the computer, I could be called upon to referee an argument, clean up a spill, change a diaper, and well, you know what I mean. It’s taxing. It hardly ever lets up. I home school two kids, so that adds a whole new “job” to my already lengthy job description. I have to have a “bright spot” in my day. Sometimes, I work hard and promise myself I’ll take a moment to eat a brownie and read a book, or sometimes, I promise myself a walk, or to put my feet up and enjoy one of my faves…Andy or Lucy! Lately, my bright spot has been doing what I’m doing now, blogging! I really enjoy sharing thoughts, ideas, news and views with you. I really enjoy hearing from you. I’ve been able to keep in touch with friends like never before since I became a “blogger”.
It’s been really crazy here lately. Laci is sick with yet another ear infection and some sort of rash??? Leslie is, well, being 2 all the time! We’ve had lots to do at church, so I haven’t been able to enjoy my little “mini-vacation” (blogging) as much as I’d like to. But I still take a break of some kind each day, even if it’s only five minutes. Why? Because I need a bright spot! I need something that makes me smile. If you don’t have a “bright spot” each day, you should get one! It gives you something besides cooking and laundry to wake up to each morning! I guess you could say that you are my bright spot each day – you make me smile, and everyone needs a smile! :o)
Oh, and by the way, thanks for making me smile today!

  1. Oh so very true!
Be praying for me! A lot is going on and mostly good, but when I'm so busy and don't have the much needed time for myself, it almost feels like at times that I am a housekeeper and babysitter more than a happy mother. That's mostly cause I meet all the needs of others and not my own. I'm so tired that even taking a shower at times fills like a chore and not a necessity. Anyway, I have so much to blog about that I am going to take next Tuesday totally off (as much as possible being a Mama) and blog about it all.
I am so ready for the flu season to be over. My husband is in the middle of it now. Making it pass through 4 of us. I'm praying Trey and Gracie will stay well!!
I will make sure to pray for little Laci. Sounds like she is having an awful time. Poor Girly!
Well, my laundry stopped and this is my last load for the day. With it only being 10:36 pm at night I'm ready to be done with it. Only 7 more loads tomorrow. hurray
With us being sick I have just kept up on the clothes that we normally wear everyday and the other clothes, sheets and blankets have sat for two weeks. ugh
So I'm finally seeing a more cleaner laundry room. Though never endless.
Have a wonderful evening and blessed day tomorrow.

You are wise to take a mini-vacation each time you are able to do so. You do have a tremendous load to carry. Reading your blog entries is a bright spot for me. I have enjoyed them. Thanks for writing them and posting the photos.

You are so very right! Everyone does deserve some time each day to something for themselves!! I love reading your blogs. Always know what to say at the right time!

I hope that Laci gets to feeling better!

    Hey Kristy!
I heard this quote from Mrs. Marlene Evans, she used to be the editor of Chrisian Womanhood. She said “When you're sick, just remember: food, clothes, path” As long as you have something to eat, something to wear and you can walk from one room to another, you're doing good! ha! That's how it's been around here lately!
    Hope you get well soon!
