We have two sweet kiddos living right across the street from us. I know that they’re sweet because I go to church with them! Nicholas and Maria have been a blessing to my kids. They ride bikes together, play at the “big tree” together, and jump on the trampoline together. One day about a week ago, they joined us for some fun in the sun on our slip and slide. It was such a joy to see my children enjoying the friendship of others kids their age. What a wonderful blessing!
In Texas, we were never able to use our slip and slide for a couple of reasons. #1. The grass had too many burrs and thorns for them to run barefoot on it. #2. Fire Ants were literally on every spot on our lawn. Every time we used the water hose, they came out of the ground in troops. We have not taken for granted the lovely green (and burr free) grass that we enjoy here in God’s Country ;], or the fact that the fire ants are fewer!
I thought you might enjoy these photos!
Laci enjoyed her first foray in the the world of water fun! In fact, she kept getting in the way of the kids wanting to slide! She just wanted to sit and splash. I need to get her a kiddie pool, I guess!

I am so glad God has answered our prayers and given your children some friends. They looked like they were having a lot of fun. Laci is growing up so much.
Can't wait to see you,
Looks like fun!! I know what you mean about the thorns and stickers. It's risky to walk barefoot outside! My kids never could play with water outside because it would just turn the sand to mud! Oh, how I miss grass!! 🙂
I am so glad they have friends. There is nothing like a good ole buddy. I'm sure they will make up for those years, not being able to play outside in the water. Plus, it gives you some much needed piece and quiet. I hope you are enjoying your new place, inside and out. When is the visit to NC?

Sweet pictures! How good to hear that Lauren and Mitchell have friends to play with now!!
I enjoyed seeing the children have so much fun, and I feel cooler just looking at the photos. :o)
I'm so thankful that the kids have friends to play with and that they can enjoy a big beautiful lawn. I know there is a lot of mowing involved, but it's worth the work, isn't it?
I'm your friend. Can I come over and slide down the slip and slide too? ;]
It looks like they all had a blast. I haven't seen a slip and slide since I was little. It brought back a lot of fun filled memories.
I didn't know that you had to deal with those kinds of things on your lawn in TX..
What a huge blessing your new lawn must be!
It is wonderful to hear that God answered Lauren's prayers. How wonderful to have neighbor friends to play with!
