I’m doing my best to stay current on family events, since that’s really my primary reason for blogging. One great blessing of the Internet is the ability to share photos and family news with loved ones far away. Of course, I’m not sure if many of my family members are reading, but I know a few of them are. Also, I like keeping my memories together in a safe place so that my children can view them someday. I still have much to catch up on, but I’ll get there, eventually. ๐Ÿ™‚

Here are some photos of Mitchell’s birthday yesterday. He had a very fun day!

Everyone ready to meet Nana in Arkadelphia! ๐Ÿ™‚

Gift from Nana – and a delicious meal, too!ย

Free birthday sundae!ย

All the kids wanted to pose with this willow tree.ย

After lunch, we came home and let him open his gifts. He didn’t ask for anything extravagant. His list said he wanted “markers and/or coloring pencils” (I splurged and bought both.) He had also written that he wanted a reading lamp, a watch, and a small calendar. The only thing we were unable to get hims was the watch.ย
Here he is with the calendar and coloring pencils.

Here are the markers! ๐Ÿ™‚
He was so happy to get the reading light! ๐Ÿ™‚ I’m so blessed to have easy-to-please kids.ย

We also got him this little science experiment kit that he saw at Cracker Barrel. He’s looking away for some reason! (He doesn’t stay still for very long!)

The highlight of the day was getting to open this satchel from his Grandma and Granddad! Grandma made it according to his specifications – he sent her a detailed pattern in the mail. She did a fabulous job, above and beyond what he’d imagined! He LOVES it!ย

Oh look! They even packed it with some surprises!ย

Wow! It was filled with goodies! A monocular, beef jerky and a pocket knife that has a spoon, fork and other tools! He’s in heaven! ๐Ÿ™‚ย

We had planned to order him a Batman cake, but the bakery was out of the kit to put on it. I had to improvise and make my own, which wasn’t nearly as cute as the store’s! Mitchell was so sweet about it, though. It tasted good, so that counts for a little, I guess. ๐Ÿ™‚ย

Aw! This pose was his idea. โ™ฅ
It was late at night, after church, before we could sing to him and have his cake. Here’s a short video of the moment. Please adjust your volume before viewing, it might be a bit loud. Click play below, or go HERE. Thanks for reading!ย
